Help Enhance your Neighbourhood
I'm interested in forming an informal
guerrilla gardening group in the Summerhill area. Guerrilla Gardening is the practice of
planting and caring for gardens in otherwise unused public
spaces such as parks. An example might be preparing a flower bed
next to a path, and planting wildflower seeds, or splitting your
perennials and planting them around park signs/walls/gates. I've
never done this before, but have read about it, and was
wondering if anyone else might be interested in trying it out.
It's ultimately about taking an active role in the beauty of our
community, instead of relying on the city parks department. It
makes for nicer spaces, and increased property values. Also a
fun weekend activity for the whole family.
